Pan-Seared Oatmeal Recipe (Vegan)
I'm Jerry, and you'rewatching Cooking Stoned.
You're going to need oatmeal,
maple syrup, a dark brownsugar, coconut milk,
sea salt, and for garnish, dried fruit and nuts.
Add one cup of oatmeal toa medium size sauce pot.
You wanna use steel cut oatshere, and not rolled oats.
Add a half cup of brown sugar,
and one and one half cups of water.
Add a cup and a half of coconut milk.
And then mix all of theingredients together.
Bring the mixture to a boil
and then reduce it to a mediumlow simmer until cooked.
Transfer the mixture to a baking dish
and let it cool for about 10 minutes,
just enough for it to thicken.
Now that the oatmeal has some structure,
cut it into equal servings.
These servings will then be fried.
Warm your skillet over a medium high heat,
and add a little bit of oliveoil or butter to the pan.
And then sear the oatmealcake on each side.
Garnish the seared cake withchopped almonds and fruit,
and a little bit of maple syrup.
Enjoy.
